Our Space

Located in the historic Mills of Newmarket, New Hampshire, Symmetry Yoga Studio offers a peaceful sanctuary from the pace of modern life. This is a space to slow down, release stress, restore balance, and learn practical tools for self-care and personal transformation.

Each class is guided by a warm, welcoming yoga teacher or certified yoga therapist. Our highly trained instructors are committed to offering a safe, supportive practice that can be thoughtfully adapted to meet the needs of students of all levels and abilities within the same class. We encourage students to honor their own bodies, make choices that feel right for them, and cultivate deeper awareness on and off the mat.

Our yoga classes are rooted in breath-led, intentional movement. By linking breath with movement, we cultivate a mindful practice that supports connection between mind, body, and soul. With a variety of class formats and styles, you’re invited to choose what best supports your needs on any given day.

We offer a variety of class styles including Gentle, Vinyasa & Yin.

Gentle Flow

This gentle, yoga therapy–informed class is open to students of all levels, whether you are new to yoga or returning to foundational principles. Classes emphasize accessible postures with thoughtful adaptations to support individual bodies, injuries, or health considerations. With a focus on alignment, body mechanics, and breath awareness, this practice helps calm the nervous system, improve neuromuscular coordination, reduce stress, and cultivate greater focus—benefits that extend beyond the mat.

All Levels Vinyasa Flow

This safe, creative, and wisdom-based flow is designed for experienced students seeking to build strength, balance, and coordination while cultivating intentional breath regulation and focused awareness. Stronger postures such as arm balances and inversions may be introduced as optional explorations. Classes feature intelligent, playful sequencing and the integration of practical yogic philosophy, offering tools that support both embodied practice and greater ease in everyday life.

Awaken Vinyasa Flow

Begin your day with an energizing vinyasa flow designed to build heat, focus the mind, and cultivate a sense of balance that carries you into the hours ahead. This thoughtfully sequenced practice supports strength, mobility, and mindful breath, while encouraging steady presence and intention. As in all Symmetry classes, students are invited to modify poses and transitions—intensifying the practice or slowing it down as needed. Rooted in our core value of accessibility, this class honors individual bodies and experiences, offering options that allow each student to practice in a way that feels supportive and sustainable.

Sunday Slowdown

Start your Sunday morning with a gentle, restorative practice designed to cultivate relaxation, renewal, and balance. This class blends soothing postures, mindful breathwork, and meditation, guiding students into a calm, centered state. Suitable for all levels, Sunday Slowdown encourages presence, eases tension, and fosters a sense of ease that carries with you into the day ahead.

Midday Refresh

If you can kick off your shoes and pull back your hair, you’re ready for this class. Designed to fit easily into a long lunch break, Midday Refresh is a no-sweat, work-clothes-friendly practice that offers a meaningful pause in the middle of the day. We pair gentle asana, pranayama, and personal reflection to cultivate presence, clarity, and grounded energy. Sequenced postures are chosen to reduce stress, support spinal health, and improve respiration and circulation. This all-levels class offers accessible options and modifications—come as you are and take a deep breath before returning to your day.

Functional Flow

This all-levels class weaves functional movement principles into a thoughtful vinyasa flow, building strength, integrity, and deeper understanding within your asana practice. Clients often describe this class as a hybrid of yoga and physical therapy. Each month features a specific physical focus, allowing students to integrate new movement patterns and skills while exploring traditional yoga poses in a supportive, accessible way.

Chill

Chill is a meditative, gentle, floor-based practice suitable for all levels, inviting students to connect with the wisdom of their bodies while exploring the subtle and spiritual dimensions of yoga. This class blends elements of Gentle and Restorative yoga, using slow, mindful movement and supported postures to encourage relaxation and balance. Gentle therapeutic practices like these are shown to reduce stress and support mental and emotional well-being. By cultivating calm and presence on the mat, students carry a sense of ease, lightness, and peace into the rest of their evening.

Yin

Yin Yoga offers a slow, meditative practice that complements our more dynamic yang-style Vinyasa classes. This practice targets the body’s deepest tissues, including connective tissues and joints, guiding students into a mindful exploration of stillness and release. Through longer-held poses and breath-focused guidance, we soften into tension, cultivate awareness, and create space for inner calm. Suitable for all levels, Yin Yoga supports stress resilience, flexibility, and a deeper sense of balance both on and off the mat.

We offer Yoga Therapy.

Symmetry is proud to be one of the few studios with two certified yoga therapists on staff. Yoga therapists receive extensive training—comparable to a Master’s-level education—preparing them to work with clients facing specific health conditions. They provide customized tools and practices designed to support optimal physical, mental, emotional, energetic, and spiritual well-being. As healthcare increasingly emphasizes prevention and holistic care, yoga therapy offers individualized or small-group sessions that empower clients to create meaningful, lasting change in their bodies, minds, relationships, and self-care practices.

Symmetry currently offers three 50-minute Yoga Therapy sessions for $200. Sessions are recommended on a bi-weekly basis for the greatest benefit. To schedule a session, or gift one to a friend or family member, reach out to ask@symmetryyogastudio.com

Pop Up Classes

On most Friday and Sunday evenings, our instructors and special guest teachers offer unique, one-of-a-kind classes and experiences, including Yoga Nidra, Barre Yoga Fusion, Sound Baths, and more. These offerings are included with memberships and class packs, and are also available for drop-in clients. Come explore something new and join us!

SOGA (soup & yoga)

SOGA is our beloved combination of yoga and homemade soup, inspired by a dear friend who passed away. Knowing our owner’s love of cooking—especially soups and stews—and her deep passion for yoga, he suggested bringing the two together to create SOGA.

From September through March, we gather on Thursday evenings for a 75-minute All Levels Vinyasa practice, then linger in our beautiful studio over a warm cup of homemade soup, connecting with our community. Each evening also serves as an opportunity to support meaningful causes. In 2025, SOGA has helped raise funds for national organizations like the American Brain Tumor Association, communities affected by tragedies such as the LA wildfires, and local initiatives including Yoga in Action, Oyster River Womenade, Newmarket Food Bank, Swim for Change, and Tilly’s Senior Dog Sanctuary.

We invite everyone to join us for these special evenings—come for the yoga, stay for the soup, and lift your spoon in support of something greater.
